Chief Risk Officer, Funds (Exclusive Role)

Our client, a global bank, has an opening for a Chief Risk Officer to join their growing Irish team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of risk within the company while maintaining strong communication with entities both inside and outside the business. This person must also be an actively engaged leader with Irish Regulatory Experience.

The Job:

•Responsible for overseeing and managing all enterprise risks
•Ensure risk statements & risk registers are complete and up to date
•Ensure appropriate management of credit, market, operational & liquidity risks
•Deliver risk related legal entity requirements suitable for Board & external party review
•Establish risk limits & tolerance levels ensuring they’re monitored, managed & considered
•Routine & ad hoc investigation/reporting to governing bodies on risk exposures
•Ensure all applicable global and local risk policies are adhered to
•Respond & own all risk related regulatory findings/queries and remediation work
•Attend Line of Business Risk Committees and Business Acceptance Committees
•Escalate issues to Risk Committees and/or EMEA Senior Risk Management Committee
•Follow up issues identified by Compliance, Internal & External Auditors within timelines
•Chair the Ireland Crisis Management Team
•Escalate changes to the risk profile & control environment to the EMEA Chief Risk Officer

The Candidate:

•Must have Irish Regulatory experience
•Ability to motivate staff by coaching, stretch assignments & leading by example
•Proven hands on team leader, builder and motivator
•History of relationships with senior management and peers
•Ability to work in rapidly changing environment
•Ability to manage & drive accountability in complex projects with delegation to others
•Strong communication, analytical skills and process orientation
•Experience in fund management, fund servicing, operations, or risk management
•Knowledge of financial markets, security settlement, clearing & repo markets
•A motivated self-starter who is disciplined, assured & performance driven
•Build alliances across business partners, functional lines, legal entities and the EMEA region
•Demonstrates the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity
•Makes well-informed & objective decisions to support organisational goals
