My client, a large Irish plc based in Dublin South is seeking a Group Financial Accountant (newly qualified).
The Group Financial Accountant plays a key role in the delivery of external and internal reporting across the Group in line with IFRS and best industry practice.
Job Description:
• Management Reporting
• Production & delivery of monthly Group Pack for the Board, ExCo and CFO
• Support all Group management reporting processes including group daily revenue reporting and the monthly management accounts close
• Continuous development of existing MI and design of new MI to meet senior management requirements
• Continuously improve the monthly close process and related outputs, working with Business Accounting teams
• Group Accounting, Financial Reporting & Business Support
• Production of Annual and Interim published financial reports in accordance with IFRS in association with other key finance personnel, meeting demanding Stock Exchange and Combined Code requirements
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries to tight deadlines in accordance with IFRS and FRS 101
• Liaise with subsidiary finance teams in relation to month end reporting and various other tasks
• Development and maintenance of the group general ledger and the group chart of accounts to ensure that they continually evolve to meet business needs
• Research and conclude on technical accounting issues which impact the Group
• Ensure compliance with Group Balance Sheet Reconciliations Policy
• Stakeholder Management
• Build close relationships with Commercial Finance and Group Finance Services
• Develop close working relationships with finance management in various subsidiaries
Requirements:
• Qualified accountant with 1 + years’ post qualification experience (newly qualified big 4/top 10)
• Experience of a plc environment and Oracle financial systems would all be desirable.
• A highly motivated team player
• Strong process, technical and analytical skills, combined with commercial acumen
• Strong presentation and communication skills: the ability to accurately and pithily identify key issues and communicate them broadly
• High energy and drive, and flexible enough to work in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and changing environment and the resilience to challenge/be challenged
