Our client, a leading investment firm, is now seeking a Head of Compliance, Ireland to join their Dublin office. This is an executive role and will sit on the senior management team in Ireland and be part of the EMEA Regulatory Compliance team. You will report to the Irish board and lead the CBI relationship within the firm. The firm has won a significant piece of business resulting in their assets tripling during 2023.
The Job
- Drive a positive compliance culture throughout the company to ensure the highest ethical standards
- Report to the board with significant interaction with the c-suite on a daily basis. You will also obtain their approval on your compliance and risk monitoring programme
- Provide leadership, support and strategic, commercially focused, real-time advice to the business and compliance colleagues on compliance and regulatory matters
- Oversee the approval of distribution/marketing material relating to UCITS and AIFs, provide your expert advice on cross-jurisdictional rules and private placement regimes to ensure compliance with country licensing and registration requirements
- Act as the senior point of contact with the Central Bank and other EU regulators
- Leadership of compliance staff in Ireland in terms of allocation and review of work, career development and delivery of key performance indicators
- Monitor regulatory developments in Ireland and the EU related to UCITS and AIF funds
- Act as the designated representative for Data Protection/GDPR issues in Ireland
The Candidate
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in a compliance role in the ManCo, investment management or funds industry is required
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience working with the Central Bank UCITS and AFIMD regulations
- Proven experience in liaising with the Central Bank or other EU regulators at a senior level
- Previous approval and experience operating in a PCF role
- Experience of EU cross border distribution rules for UCITS / AIF’s, product registrations, private placement regimes, MIFID regulations and SFDR
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Irish and EU anti-money laundering rule and regulations and best practice approach for implementing a robust AML framework is required
