The Panel is currently engaged to source a VAT specialist on behalf of a reputable global Investment Manager in Dublin city centre on a permanent basis
This role requires the provision of advice, value creation, risk management, compliance and operational support to the business on a broad range of VAT matters and you will be responsible for the VAT affairs of the European legal entities across several countries.
Core to the role will be effective evaluation and communication of VAT issues; independent management of compliance obligations (largely outsourced to service providers) and assessing opportunities to simplify or improve processes

Responsibilities:
- Managing the VAT compliance obligations of the group’s European entities, including managing internal and external service providers and key stakeholders.
- Effective communication of the impact of VAT on operations and financial performance of the business.
- Ensuring internal and external processes support effective VAT compliance and accounting, including providing guidance and training to facilitate broader business understanding of the VAT.
- Implementation of process improvements and identification of VAT recovery opportunities.
- Providing support to European and US operations and back office teams, explaining the effect of VAT on operations, client pricing and financial performance.
- Analysing and effectively communicating impact of changes in VAT legislation or perceived VAT risks and managing operational initiatives required to respond to these.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience and
- Professional qualifications preferred.
- Post-qualification VAT experience gained either in the practice or in a previous industry role.
- Experience of Oracle accounting system or equivalent.
- Strong in spreadsheet and word processing software (Microsoft Office) and ability to become proficient in other software tools (e.g. Power bi, Oracle Analytics, service provider tax tools).
