Calcutta Run 2025 – The Legal Industry Fundraiser

On Saturday May 24th, The Panel team joined over 1,000 participants at the annual Calcutta Run at Blackhall Place in Dublin.

It was our pleasure to sponsor and attend the 27th Calcutta Run at the weekend.

Participants turned up in force despite Met Éireann’s threat of rain, and this truly was the year of the dog, with many canine companions participating with their owners. It was also wonderful to see the number of children taking part in the event.

The event took place at the Law Society of Ireland’s HQ at Blackhall Place in Dublin 7, with around 1,000 participants. The day started cloudy, but mild, and the rain held off until just after the event finished.

We would like to congratulate everyone taking part, but especially the top three in the 6km and 10km categories.

Top 3: 6km winners:

1st place -Darragh Moore – DLA Piper Ireland LLP
2nd place – Kevin Gahan – Matheson
3rd place – Ian Boland – Corrigan & Corrigan

Top 3: 10km winners:

1st place – Christopher O’Reilly – Arthur Cox LLP
2nd place – Sean Noble – Walkers Global
3rd place – Andrew O’Brien – Maples Group

Big congratulations to all the participants, The Law Society, and all of those behind the scenes who make this event happen. A special thanks to Eamon Harrington (Law Society of Ireland President), Michelle Thornton, Helen Butler, Leonie Thornton, Miriam O’Callaghan, and Stuart Thornton. Thanks also to the instructors from ICONIC Health Clubs for the warm-up and for getting everyone in the mood.

All funds raised were in aid of the Dublin Simon Community and The Hope Foundation.
