Head of Finance & IT
My client is a large Irish charity with operations across Ireland. They are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance for their headquarters in South Dublin, close to Dublin City Centre.
The Head of Finance & IT reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a member of the senior leadership team.
The Head of Finance & IT is responsible for the overall management of the Finance and IT department, including ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and Charities regulations on the island of Ireland. You will manage a team who are responsible for a range of specialist functions, including pension administration and payroll, investment administration and cash management, treasury management, account management and reporting, and Information Technology.

The role:
- Preparation of financial statements and supporting information for external auditors.
- Preparation of annual budgets in support of the activities and strategic priorities of the company
- Providing financial, taxation, and reporting advice to the investment and pensions committees, and to the management team.
- Recommending and implementing policies and procedures to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance
- Providing financial advice and guidance to different areas of the business
- Reviewing processes and controls to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Finance and IT Department.
- Implementation of continuous process improvement and projects as required.
- Management and development of finance & IT teams
- Attending management meetings and participating in management initiatives
The person:
- Qualified Accountant with several years’ pqe
- Staff management experience
- Systems orientated
- Experience of pension administration, fund management, and investment and treasury administration experience are desirable, as are knowledge of Charities SORP and experience of working for a charity.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills.
