We are one of the largest employers in the South-East with our head office and two plants based in Wexford, one in Naas and a further plant in Belfast. This is a constantly growing business with a focus on service backed up by a model to drive energy efficiency and environmental sustainability while meeting the exacting standards that our customers demand.
As part of their overall growth plans, Celtic Linen is seeking to recruit an Operations Director with responsibilities in all plants. This position arises because of a period of growth and the successful candidate will Lead an already established Operations team.
As Operations Director you will oversee all plants and will play a lead role in strategy development and implementation.
This is a hands-on position in a busy, dynamic operational environment, offering an excellent opportunity to join an energetic and fast paced company that has a clear vision and path for growth into the future.

Responsibilities of the role are, but not limited to:-
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise manufacturing processes across all three sites.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operations with overall business objectives and goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee day-to-day operations at each site, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and improve overall performance.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
- Managing logistics
- Implement Sustainability measure with clear focus on group sustainability targets.
- Ensure best practices in terms of energy efficiency.
- Development and implementation of Capital Invest plans including detailed R.O.I and follow up measurements.
- Work and develop relationships and KPIS with Key suppliers
- Effectively manage resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets and financial objectives within budgetary constraints.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to the operations teams at each site, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor key talent within the operations team, identifying and nurturing future leaders.
- Promote a safe and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages employee engagement and development.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all operations-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, such as supply chain, engineering, and quality assurance, to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.
- Identify potential risks to operations and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple sites.
- Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, improving productivity, and delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their full potential.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
- Experience in the Linen Service Industry is a plus.
- The role can be based in Naas/Wexford or Belfast.
- Travel between sites is a pre-requisite.
