Our client, a global insurance business, is currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join their Dublin-based team.
The position will report to a Senior Legal Counsel.
Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years pqe, with good experience of commercial contracts and general legal advisory skills.
Insurance or financial services experience preferable, but not essential.
What is essential is that you have worked in a commercial role, know your way around commercial contracts, negotiation etc and be ready to get up to speed on industry regulation.

Key responsibilities:
- This role involves advising the business on a wide range of matters including commercial law, contracts, insurance law and regulation.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with business partners (Asset managers, Custodians and Intermediaries).
- You will advise and support the business in providing required legal advice
- You will be responsible for monitoring and advising on applicable regulations and legislation
- Provide general support to the business in meeting legal and regulatory obligations
- Deliver general commercial and/or company law advice to senior management
- Draft, negotiate, review and advise on a variety of commercial contracts
Requirements:
- 1-3 year pqe qualified solicitor from a top-tier commercial law firm, or from another in-house team
- Experience of insurance / financial services practice from a legal and regulatory perspective is an advantage but not essential
- Ambitious and hard working with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively
- Ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
