Our client is a key player in their industry, employing over 2500 people globally.
They have an established team in Ireland, with over 60 employees in Dublin and plans to expand.
Our client is now interested in speaking with Senior Legal Counsel (min. 10 years’ pqe) who can operate at VP / Head of Legal level.
This position is the most senior legal role in the Ireland business, it reports to the Country Head in Ireland and has a dotted line to the Global GC.
*A few key considerations if you are interested in applying for this position*
1. Significant in-house experience is essential
2. Ideal candidates will have previous experience of the HR / People function reporting into them and will have an interest and passion for the overall ‘People Agenda’
3. People management/leadership experience – there are c. 5 direct reports (cross functional) so you must be currently operating at Head of Legal / VP level
4. Broad scope of legal experience is a requirement, this role overseas the entire legal function for the Ireland business, corporate, commercial, governance etc
5. Significant experience of commercial contracts is essential, especially any involvement around streamlining and efficiency projects related to same
6. Experience of working in an agile, fast paced and dynamic environment
7. Experience of sectors such as banking/insurance/leasing/retail/manufacturing/telecoms/technology – preferable
8. Experience working on the SLT
9. Available to working in the Dublin office at least 3 days per week
10. Strategic experience, but also willing to ‘roll up sleeves’ around BAU

Key Responsibilities
- Leading negotiations and drafting changes to various agreements.
- Evaluating and identifying opportunities to optimize contracting processes.
- Advising on legal compliance and providing updates to the Global legal team.
- Supporting local funding facilities in coordination with the Treasury function.
- Implementing frameworks for best practices in corporate governance and risk management.
- Collaborating with the business on strategic initiatives.
- Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within the leasing operating model.
- Managing outside counsel on financial and leasing issues.
- Overseeing company secretarial requirements for all Irish entities.
- Advising on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate, insurance, employment, and litigation.
- Leading business units such as PP&C, IT, and/or Design Assurance as needed.
- Undertaking other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
