My client is a growing construction company based in West Dublin. Due to increased revenues they are currently recruiting for a newly created Financial Accountant role.
The Financial Accountant will play an integral part in the completion of financial and monthly management accounts and will be key member in the finance department.

This role will be based 5 days on site

The Financial Accountant will play an integral part in the completion of financial and monthly management accounts and will be key member in the finance department.
Report to: Finance Director
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with other members of the finance team, ensuring daily and weekly goals are met and providing support as required.
- Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations.
- Maintenance and management of company asset base including fixed assets, leased assets, cash management. debtors, creditors and retentions etc
- Responsible for the weekly/monthly/quarterly accounts and preparation of reporting packs.
- Ensure effective and robust site financial controls are in place to minimise risk
- Compile annual returns, monthly management accounts, external reporting, tax compliance (VAT, RCT, RTD), and managing the audit process.
- Responsible for company Insurance required for projects, credit, and normal business transactions ensuring that all suppliers maintain the correct level of insurance.
- Liaise with Finance Director, COO, & Heads of Department regularly ensuring output and invoicing is in line with cash flow by project. Work consultatively with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives and highlighting possible overrun..
- Preparation of year-end financial statements, ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards, working within the yearly audit process and ensuring completion of any and all relevant statutory requirements
- Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the Finance Director in analysing margins, variances and cost analysis.
- Identify areas of weakness and develop and deliver on projects to improve the financial efficiency of the company.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures.
- Support the Implementation of a best-in-class finance function that supports business plans.
The person:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, CPA, ACCA) with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
- Excellent IT skills and full proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems
Strong communication Skills - Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and excellent numerical skills
Analysing information, planning and reporting research results;
Experience in the construction industry is an advantage for this role.
