Financial Controller
My client is a highly successful Irish company in the midlands. They are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their senior management team.
Main duties:
Financial Reporting
• Provide agreed daily, weekly and monthly management information reports
• Prepare detailed budgets for all business activities
• Ensure tax compliance on VAT, PAYE and other Revenue requirements
• Liaise effectively with banks, creditors, auditors and other external bodies as necessary
Financial Analysis
• Develop standard costings for all major activities
• Analyse labour variances weekly, monthly
• Help management team to understand and reduce negative variances
• Identify the most effective ways to maximize margins while complying with regulatory requirements, satisfying customer demand and enhancing market positioning
• Develop simple models to identify and maximize revenue
Working Capital Management
• Prepare weekly Aged Debtors and Creditors report
• Ensure all invoices are issued promptly and cash collection targets achieved
• Prepare detailed processes for all relevant VAT/PAYE requirements and ensure compliance
• Ensure accurate recording of all banking and other internal controls
• Prepare and issue weekly summary of all cash/banking/working capital movements
HR/IT/Insurances/Risks
• Help develop the culture of the organization to ensure all employees are treated with respect and the business complies with all statutory requirements
• Ensure all personnel have formal employment contracts, are issued with an Employee Handbook, receive proper induction training and all complaints/grievances are properly handled
• Review all accounting and IT software in terms of fit with business requirements and action appropriately
• Ensure all insurances are in place and claims handled both timely and accurately.
• Prepare and update a risk register to monitor and manage the key risks in the business.
The person:
• Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years' pqe
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Irish financial regulations and tax laws
• Ability to take ownership of financial reporting and office management and building a great relationship with the Board
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
Salary: c. €90k plus 20% bonus, healthcare and pension.
