- Act as the line of management between the Firm’s Board of Directors and its delegates.
- Oversee and constructively challenge delegates to ensure compliance with the firm’s fund risk management framework.
- Set Fund Risk Profiles and ensure approval from Fund Boards and the Firm’s Board prior to fund launches.
- Measure, manage, and monitor the risk profile of funds in line with risk appetite and applicable risk management policies.
- Report quarterly to the Board of the Firm and the Fund Boards regarding fund risk.
- Review and document any breaches and escalate issues as required.
- Collaborate with Investment Managers, Fund Administrators, and Depositaries.
- Perform necessary risk controls, checks, and stress testing as required by regulations.
- Ensure policies related to fund risk management are fit for purpose and regularly updated.
- Complete assigned regulatory reporting to deadlines.
The Candidate
- Demonstrable experience and track record in a risk management capacity at a senior level in the asset management or funds industry.
- Suitable qualifications and experience that support the expectations of the PCF39C role.
- Practical experience in analyzing risks associated with a wide range of financial instruments, including derivatives.
- Significant knowledge of regulations and guidance issued by the Central Bank of Ireland and other relevant European regulatory bodies.
- Highly numerate with proficiency in risk analysis and stress testing methodologies.
- Excellent data analytics skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including VBA).
- Experience with Bloomberg PORT, SQL, Python, etc., is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, organized, analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Ability to identify material issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Strong report-writing skills with a third-level qualification in commerce, finance, or a quantitative discipline; a Master's Degree, FRM, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is desirable.
