Our client is a prominent retail group with a strong presence across Ireland. They are seeking a commercially focused Financial Controller to join their leadership team. This is a key role with responsibility for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and team management in a dynamic, multi-entity retail environment.
Planning & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts in line with agreed timelines and standards.
- Produce accurate, insightful financial data to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting exercises.
- Manage cash flow, capital expenditure reporting, and working capital needs.
- Deliver comprehensive KPI reporting across areas including sales, margins, inventory, store profitability, and payroll.
- Support Board-level reporting and presentations.
- Lead and develop a finance team of 7, ensuring a high-performance culture.
- Set team goals, monitor performance, and manage annual appraisals.
- Promote the finance function as a key business partner across departments.
- Maintain and enhance internal financial controls across all operations.
- Ensure full tax compliance and oversee timely submission of all returns.
- Manage the annual audit process including IFRS financial statements, group consolidation, and compliance for over 70 legal entities.
- Serve as the main point of contact for auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors.
- Act as finance lead for a company-wide Business Transformation initiative, including ERP system implementation.
- Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider.
- Provide ongoing support to the Finance Director and executive leadership team on strategic and financial matters.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Financial Controller role
- Strong background in the retail or FMCG sector is essential
- Proven experience in ERP implementation is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
Salary: c. €115k plus benefits
