My client is a growing Irish company. They are currently looking to recruit a Head of Finance for one of their business units, based in Wexford. This will initially be a 6 month contract and there will be a permanent role available for suitably qualified candidates.
Role Overview
The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 reporting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, commercial insight, and the ability to thrive in a scale-up environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in compliance with FRS 102.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations team including accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business strategy and pricing models.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics, including weekly & monthly cashflow forecasts.
- Compile and process the company’s bi-weekly payroll.
- Liaise with project teams to track project costs and profitability.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and payroll taxes.
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
- Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with 5+ years’ pqe
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Experience working in a growing SME environment with responsibility for the full finance function.
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
