Finance Manager
My client is a large Irish distribution company. This is a newly created role with responsibility for their Irish distribution business.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Group Commercial Finance Manager your primary responsibility will be collaborating closely with them and the Irish distribution leadership team to provide tactical and strategic financial insights and guidance. You will help the team understand their financial performance by providing insight, while supporting and challenging them in equal measure.
You will need to be adept at building relationships with your key stakeholders and will play a key role in shaping future strategies as our business continues to grow.
You will leverage your financial expertise to empower decision-making and contribute to the overall financial success of the organisation.
Main Responsibilities
Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with the Ireland distribution leadership team to provide financial expertise, insights, and recommendations to enhance financial performance. Act as a liaison between the Group Finance department and the team, promoting collaboration and ensuring compliance with internal control procedures.
Month-End Closing: Perform the month-end accounts preparation and closing activities related to the Irish distribution businesses. Deliver month-end reporting on-time, with accuracy, analysis, and informative commentary. Provide all necessary support to the Group month end close, including year-end and audit file preparation.
Forecasting and Budgeting: Taking a partnering approach, prepare budgets and forecasts for the Irish distribution business, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic direction.
Insights: Act as the finance expert on all initiatives in your area. You will be required to present analysis, provide insight, and make recommendations for future strategies.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Irish distribution finance function. Challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings whenever possible. Proactively support with the implementation of wider finance initiatives.
Projects: Manage both projects and tactical initiatives, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with company goals.
Support: Act as a point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders. Provide general support to the finance team and assist with ad-hoc financial tasks.
Team management: Lead, mentor, and guide the assistant accountants and the other finance teams members.

Salary: €90k - €100k plus benefits.

The person:
- Qualified Accountant with 5 years’ pqe
- Experience of stock management an advantage.
- Strong communicator with the ability to act as a liaison between Finance and the operational and sales teams.
- Demonstrated strategic financial acumen and analytical mindset.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to provide financial insights to drive business growth.
- Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and modelling.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Highly analytical and numerical with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.
Salary: €90k - €100k plus benefits.
