Our client is seeking an experienced professional to take on the role of Designated Person (DP) for Regulatory Compliance & MLRO. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and involves managing compliance frameworks across various jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in overseeing compliance and AML/CFT functions for an Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) and its broader group activities. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to regulatory governance and risk management within a dynamic and sophisticated investment environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Compliance Framework aligned with AIFMD, Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) rules, UK FCA regulations, and broader EU guidelines.
- Lead the implementation of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP) and provide timely reporting to the Board on compliance matters, including risks and breaches.
- Oversee delegate compliance, particularly in relation to AML/CFT obligations, ensuring effective due diligence and monitoring processes are in place.
- Engage with regulatory bodies, auditors, and legal advisors on compliance inspections and regulatory queries, while staying informed of evolving regulatory guidance.
- Maintain up-to-date Business Risk Assessments and Customer Risk Assessments, and lead internal compliance training programs for staff and Board members.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in compliance within an AIFM or a related regulated firm, with strong knowledge of AIFMD and Irish fund governance practices.
- Proven expertise in regulatory frameworks, including Central Bank of Ireland expectations (CP86) and MiFID II requirements.
- Experience acting as a PCF-39 Designated Person and MLRO is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Boards, regulators, and third-party delegates.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of leading regulatory initiatives independently while managing compliance risks effectively.
