PRMIA Ireland Event – How Does a Bank Go Bust?
On Tuesday 21st of November 2023, PRMIA Ireland held their latest in person event: "How does a bank go bust? Solvency, liquidity and confidence". The event was kindly hosted by the Institute of Bankers (IOB).
The event was opened by Dr. Monika Smatralova (Regional Director, PRMIA Ireland) and featured Barclays Europe’s Chief Risk Officer, Dr. Anthony Mayer.
Anthony spoke of his experiences with Barclays Bank, which he joined in 2008, and how a bank can go through solvency and liquidation and how confidence in a bank is key.
Co-Regional Director, PRMIA Ireland Alan Bluett acted as moderator for the event and held the Q&A at the end of the event.
