My client is an established and fast-growing international company in the retail sector. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead financial reporting and month-end processes across its Irish and UK entities. This is a critical leadership position focused on financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead financial reporting and month-end processes across its Irish and UK entities. This is a critical leadership position focused on financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
The role
- Lead the monthly close process for Irish and UK legal entities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidation of group financials.
- Prepare and review consolidated Group Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Coordinate with local service providers to manage cost centre accounting for Spain and Germany, ensuring accurate allocations and timely reporting.
- Manage working capital and oversee cash flow forecasting across the group.
- Maintain oversight of multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange implications.
- Implement cost management strategies to monitor and control expenditures across departments and regions.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and intercompany reconciliations across all regions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal financial controls. Lead audits and statutory reporting processes.
- Manage VAT/GST and other international sales tax compliance across jurisdictions, ensuring filings are accurate and timely. Prior experience with international indirect tax is highly desirable.
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of 5 finance professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation and improvement initiatives within the month-end and financial reporting processes.
The person:
- Qualified Accountant with 5–7 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in team management and multinational operations.
- Proven ability to enhance financial processes and systems.
- Skilled in ERP systems (e.g., XERO, AIQ, NetSuite, SAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
