I am partnering with my client to appoint a Sustainable Business Technical Manager (CSRD) will be responsible for the embedding and alignment of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and Net Zero related policies and strategies. Reporting to the Sustainable Business Senior Manager,
The Role
• Accountable for the embedding and alignment of CSRD and Net Zero sustainability-related policies, strategies, standards and targets.
• Responsible for updating CSRD and Net Zero sustainability-related policies, strategies, standards and targets in line with performance and evolving strategic imperatives.
• Responsible for ensuring sub targets are being implemented across all UÉ departments.
• Providing regular updates to the Sustainability team on the progress and alignment across the business in relation to their CSRD and Net Zero sustainability targets.
• Supporting the business across all functions in understanding what is required by their departments to ensure alignment across its core CSRD and Net Zero sustainability ambitions and targets.
• Keep informed and updated on all new Government and NewEra policies pertaining to sustainability (CSRD, Energy, Circular Economy, Water, Biodiversity, Waste, Social etc.) and provide summaries of same to the Sustainability team.
• Provide CSRD and Net Zero sustainability input into design and tender requirements for projects and assessing if the design developed meets sustainability policy objectives
• Accountable for identifying internal and external communications required and working with the wider organisation to develop communications
• Support ongoing development, implementation and embedding of the Sustainability strategy Framework.
• Assess business requirements in relation to sustainability and work closely with the Sustainability team and other parties to ensure the incorporation and embedding and alignment of CSRD and Net Zero sustainability considerations into all aspects of business
• Proactively support sustainability ambitions including assessing opportunities for improvement.
• Perform other such duties in relation to work within the Sustainability and Innovation function as required
Duties
• Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the business.
• Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
• Support the delivery of the Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
• Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
The candidate
• Relevant third level degree qualifications and or accreditation in a relevant discipline is desirable, and/or relevant experience
• A minimum of 7 years’ Experience in utilities or similar industries is desirable
• Experience managing a large team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills.
• Experienced in project management and collaborating across departments achieving shared objectives.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating teams to deliver customer-focused objectives that enhance service delivery.
• You will have a proven track record in leadership, change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment
• Proven track record in leading continuous improvement initiatives in teams.
• Demonstrated experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and influencing an environment of open, honest communication while upholding high ethical standards
• Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
• Demonstrated experience in setting measurable safety and well-being goals for a team.
