The Panel at the Calcutta Run 2026 – Supporting the Legal Community
On Saturday 23rd of May, over 900 runners and walkers gathered in Dublin for the annual Calcutta Run, and The Panel was proud to be part of it.
As long-standing sponsors and supporters, we always look forward to this event, and 2026 did not disappoint. There is something really special about seeing so many people from across the legal and professional community come together for such a worthy cause, and this year was no different.
The morning got off to a fantastic start with an energetic warm-up from the Back2Basics Gym team from Tallaght, who had everyone fired up and ready to go. Before the race, we were treated to inspiring words from two brilliant women on the main stage, Rosemarie Loftus, President of the Law Society of Ireland, and the legendary Sonia O’Sullivan, World Champion, Olympian, Arachas Ambassador and Calcutta Run Race Starter. Safe to say, nobody needed much more motivation after that!
With a 6km and 10km route winding through the Phoenix Park, the racing was competitive, and this year’s overall winners were:
10km
- 1st: Andrew O’Brien (Maples)
- 2nd: David O’Connor
- 3rd: William Quill (Office of the Attorney General)
6km
- 1st: Kevin Leen (Mason Hayes & Curran LLP)
- 2nd: Darragh Moore (DLA Piper Ireland LLP)
- 3rd: Caroline Crowley (Byrne Wallace Shields LLP)
A big congratulations to all three podium finishers in each race, and to everyone who took part. Whether you were chasing a personal best or just enjoying the morning with colleagues, it was wonderful to see so many people give it their all for such a great cause.
We hope everyone had a brilliant day and came away feeling as good about it as we do. A huge thank you to the Law Society of Ireland and all the volunteers who work so hard to make this event the highlight of the legal calendar that it has become. The funds raised for the Dublin Simon Community and The Hope Foundation make a real difference, and it is something we are truly proud to support year after year.
