Head of Compliance - Insurance (Non Life)

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to lead and build a second-line compliance function for a newly established insurance intermediary. This role offers the opportunity to shape the compliance framework from the ground up, working closely with senior leadership and reporting directly to the board. Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and maintain the compliance monitoring programme, ensuring effective second-line oversight across the business
• Manage the day-to-day relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland
• Own and maintain the risk register and risk framework, providing clear operational oversight and escalation where needed
• Provide second-line oversight of complaints handling, including trend analysis, root cause review, and board reporting
• Review outsourced arrangements, delegated authority controls, and bound business activity to ensure alignment with agreed parameters

Requirements

• Suitable for appointment as PCF-12 Head of Compliance
• Strong compliance experience gained within an Irish regulated environment
• Direct experience within insurance or insurance intermediary operations.
• Experience supporting an authorisation or registration process
• Comfortable operating in a start-up or early-stage regulated setting
• Sound knowledge of risk management, complaints oversight, and governance frameworks 
• High level of integrity, independence, and professional judgement
