The Panel – sponsors the coffee break at the Irish Funds Annual Global Funds Conference 2026
On Thursday 1st of October, The Panel joined senior leaders from Ireland's international funds and asset management sector as a sponsor of this year's conference.
The Irish Funds Annual Global Funds Conference is one of the highlights of the international funds calendar. On Thursday, 1 October, more than 500 senior professionals from across the global funds industry gathered at The Convention Centre Dublin. This year’s theme, ‘Ireland: Powering the Global Investment Future’, explored Ireland’s growing role as a global centre for investment funds, from private assets to ETF innovation. It came at a fitting moment, with Ireland holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The morning set a strong tone, with a keynote from Gabriel Makhlouf, Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, and a Government Address from An Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD. His address led straight into the morning networking and coffee break, which The Panel was proud to sponsor, and our on-brand cupcakes proved a popular addition to the coffee.
The programme continued with a special interview with Sir Jeremy Hunt MP, former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer and former Foreign Secretary, alongside MC Enda Brady of TRT World. Leading AI researcher Dr Abeba Birhane delivered a keynote on human accountability in the age of AI. Maria Luís Albuquerque, European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, gave a virtual address. Later in the day, professional footballer Pico Lopes shared his journey from financial services to facing Lionel Messi at the World Cup. Panels throughout the day covered leadership, distribution, financial literacy, regulation, private assets and tokenisation.
Anne Keys, Sarah Kelly, Ailbhe Mullen and Mal Convery represented The Panel on the day. A big thank you to Claire Fines and everyone at Irish Funds for a superbly organised conference, and to everyone who stopped by for a chat over coffee.
