Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Management & Cost Accountant to play a pivotal role in supporting the financial performance of multiple customer projects. Reporting to the Project Costing Commercial Lead, this role involves close collaboration with Program and Project Managers, as well as Finance and Operations teams, to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of complex projects while driving informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost-to-complete (CTC) models for assigned projects, ensuring real-time accuracy in cost tracking and forecasting.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to analyse assumptions, identify risks, and safeguard project margins while reconciling actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Manage and continuously improve standard cost models, including bill of materials (BOM) costing, to reflect changes in designs, material prices, and labour rates.
- Produce detailed cost centre reports and project margin analyses, providing actionable insights and recommendations to departmental managers and leadership teams.
- Support inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, and cost recognition processes to ensure alignment with financial and project data.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong foundation in cost and management accounting principles.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost or management accounting, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, construction, or project-based environments.
- Proficiency in standard costing, overhead allocation, absorption costing, and ERP systems (SAP experience is highly desirable).
- Strong analytical skills, with advanced Excel capabilities and experience in financial modelling and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Familiarity with IFRS 15 revenue recognition for long-term contracts and experience supporting project or programme managers in financial decision-making.
This role will be based 5 days on site in West Dublin.
