Commercial Counsel - Global Financial Services Organisation
Our client, a globally recognized financial institution, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with expertise in corporate and commercial law to join their European Legal team.
Key points:
This role requires candidate with at least 7 years pqe.
In-house experience in a financial services business is preferable (or a secondment in an FS business)
Significant commercial law experience
Reporting to the Head of Legal
The legal team is made up of 5 qualified lawyers and paralegals
This role involves providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice within a regulated financial services environment.
With a focus on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts, this role is ideal for someone with experience from the financial services sector.

Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts, including trading, data, and technology agreements.
- Advise on corporate law and governance matters, including board governance, corporate structuring, and intra-group arrangements.
- Support business and regulatory projects by drafting and implementing legal and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Identify and evaluate legal risks associated with new businesses, transactions, and market initiatives.
- Collaborate with the compliance function to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and support engagement with regulators.
