Group Financial Controller
My client is a large Irish group, based in Dublin City Centre, with revenues in excess of €90m.
Reporting to the Group CFO, this is a senior leadership role with full ownership of consolidated reporting, controls and statutory compliance, plus a clear remit to lead the group's finance transformation agenda — analytics, KPI reporting, and the practical adoption of AI within finance.
This is a high-profile, high-impact role in a privately-owned Irish group with the autonomy to shape how finance operates across the group.
Main duties:
- Lead the monthly consolidation and preparation of group management accounts across all entities, with commentary on performance vs budget and prior year
- Manage the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting cycle, working with divisional MDs and operational finance teams
- Lead the group's finance transformation agenda — modernising processes, systems and reporting to deliver a faster, more insight-driven function
- Design and embed a group-wide KPI framework, working with operational leaders to define meaningful financial and non-financial metrics across each division
- Build out the group's financial analytics capability — moving beyond static reporting toward dashboards, self-service tools (Power BI or equivalent) and forward-looking insight
- Identify and implement practical AI and automation use cases within finance — transactional processing, reconciliations, forecasting, anomaly detection and management reporting commentary
- Strengthen the group's financial control environment — review and improve policies, procedures and internal controls across all entities
- Lead, develop and mentor a finance team of c. 8–12
- Oversee treasury, cash flow management and banking relationships across the group
- Partner with the CFO on strategic projects including acquisitions, integration, system upgrades and capital investment appraisal
- Own the year-end audit process, liaising directly with external auditors and ensuring timely sign-off of statutory financial statements under FRS 102 / IFRS as applicable
- Oversee statutory compliance across all group companies including CRO filings, corporation tax, VAT, RCT and payroll taxes
The person:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with 10+ years' PQE
- Several years' experience at a senior finance level
- Demonstrable experience leading group consolidations across multiple legal entities
- Strong technical accounting knowledge — FRS 102 and/or IFRS
- Highly commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior non-finance stakeholders
- Strong systems experience — ERP implementation or optimisation an advantage
- Comfortable operating in a privately-owned, owner-managed business environment
Hybrid working available.
