Director of Employment Law (Global)

Our client, a Dublin-headquartered global business is seeking a senior employment lawyer to join its established team.

This is a prominent role within the group, offering genuine scope to shape employment law strategy across multiple jurisdictions from a senior seat close to the business.

Key Points

• 8+ years PQE, with substantive employment law experience (contentious and non-contentious)
• In-house experience essential (secondment experience will also be considered)
• Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer
• Dublin city centre location
• Hybrid working, 3 days on site, 2 remote

The Role

As Director of Employment Law, you will serve as the group's primary legal authority on all workforce-related matters across its international footprint. Operating as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and HR, you will lead on employment litigation strategy, support complex restructuring programmes, and ensure the group's employment practices are legally sound and commercially effective across four jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or equivalent, admitted to practice in Ireland, an EU jurisdiction, the UK, or another major jurisdiction relevant to the group's operations
• 8+ years of legal experience with strong exposure to employment law — both advisory and contentious
• Proven experience managing employment litigation and coordinating external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
• Background in a multinational corporate environment; with prior law firm experience preferred
• Strong drafting and communication skills
