Our client is seeking a Designated Person – Operational Risk to take a leading role in strengthening operational risk oversight across a regulated fund services environment. This role offers the opportunity to support a business that provides fund administration, management company and platform services to asset managers, with a strong focus on governance, resilience and regulatory alignment. The Designated Person – Operational Risk will help shape and embed a robust risk culture, ensuring oversight of key operational risks, delegates and service providers. The Designated Person – Operational Risk is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working autonomously, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering practical, high-impact risk solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day oversight of operational risk across UCITS, AIFs and other mandates, ensuring key events such as errors, breaches, late trades and pricing issues are monitored, escalated and resolved appropriately.
- Maintain and enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework, including the risk register, control environment and supporting governance processes.
- Own the operational resilience and DORA framework, ensuring incident management, governance, control testing and board reporting are aligned to regulatory expectations.
- Oversee outsourced service providers and delegates, including due diligence, ongoing monitoring, risk rating reviews and onsite visits where required.
- Develop and manage risk reporting tools and processes such as RCSAs, KRIs, incident tracking and business continuity monitoring, while providing clear reporting to senior leadership and the Board.
Requirements
- Proven experience in operational risk, fund management or asset management, ideally within a regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UCITS and AIF frameworks, along with Central Bank of Ireland requirements including CP86, CP138 and CP140.
- Experience in outsourcing oversight, governance, risk frameworks and service provider monitoring.
- Relevant professional qualifications in risk, compliance, finance or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently, challenge constructively and make sound decisions.
