Financial Accountant
My client is a private equity backed Irish group, based in Monaghan. Due to continued growth they are now looking to recruit an ACA Chartered Accountant with up to 4 years’ PQE to join their Finance team.
This is a broad, hands-on finance role in a growing renewable energy business. At its core is ownership of a high-quality, timely month-end close, but the opportunity goes much further.
You’ll get exposure across the full Finance function – financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, financial control, analysis and business partnering – while helping us continually improve how Finance operates.
You’ll also work with leading platforms including NetSuite and Salesforce, using data and technology to improve processes, automate where possible and deliver better financial insight to the business.
What you’ll do
- Take ownership of key areas of the month-end close, delivering accurate and timely management information
- Prepare and review management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting and audit
- Analyse performance, investigate variances and turn financial data into meaningful commercial insight
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to support better decision-making
- Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve them
- Help improve and automate Finance processes across NetSuite, Salesforce and our wider systems
- Get involved across Finance – solving problems, taking ownership and helping drive operational excellence across the function
What we’re looking for
- ACA qualified, with up to 4 years’ PQE
- Strong academic record
- Big Four/top 10 background preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- A genuine bias towards data, technology and systems
- Commercially minded, analytical and naturally curious
- Someone who takes ownership and accountability
- Strong communicator, comfortable working with both finance and non-finance colleagues
The person
We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to produce the numbers.
We want someone who wants to understand the business behind the numbers – someone hungry to learn, curious about data and technology, and motivated to make things better.
You’ll have the opportunity to build on your technical accounting experience while developing your commercial, systems and leadership skills in a growing business at the centre of Ireland’s renewable energy transition.
Salary: €70k - €90k depending on experience.
This role will be based 4 days on site.
