The Panel Sponsor Irish Funds 2024
The Panel was delighted to sponsor the morning coffee break at the Irish Funds Annual Conference 2024.
Yesterday, the Irish Funds Annual Global Conference was back at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre, and it was a full house.
The event sported a superb lineup of speakers, opened by the Chair of Irish Funds Colm McDonagh (CEO, Insight Investment Europe), and followed by an introduction from event MC Charlene Kennedy (CEO, PGIM Private Capital Ireland).
After a great morning of keynotes, panel discussions (covering themes such as business leaders and AI) and a funds 2030 review from Minister for Finance Michael McGrath, TD, The Panel team was delighted to sponsor the morning coffee break. Our cupcakes went down a storm.
The coffee morning break was followed by a short presentation of results and winners of the recent “Irish Funds Climate Challenge Awards” by Jack Lee (MUFG Investor Services).
The Panel was delighted to receive a special mention for their proactive campaign throughout and to be named as the runner-up in the overall category and winner of the “Best Service Provider”.
The Panel would like to congratulate not only the overall winners Innocap, but also all of the participants across all categories. The 2,901 participants saved up to 280 tons of actual CO2 during 2 weeks.
In the afternoon attendees were treated to excellent keynotes from Derville Rowland (Deputy Govenor, Central Bank of Ireland), Mairead McGuinness (European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union), and Neale Richmond (Minister of State at the Department of Finance).
Key pointers discussed:
- How important ESG is, at all levels of the industry,
- The role played by DEI in creating an environment for business success.
- How AI will transform the industry over the next few years.
- The EU and the Irish Government’s commitment to supporting the Capital Markets Union, and their focus on the Macro Prudential Policy.
- How ETFs are to continue to dominate future flows.
A break from the fund’s agenda came in the form of an interview with Jamie Heaslip and Annalise Murphy, interviewed by Conor Smyth. Great discussion on how ‘athletes meet analytics’.
The day was finished by Pat Lardner, who spoke of what the industry has developed to date and how it will influence our focus next.
A huge thank you to Pat Lardner, Michelle Spencer, Brian McCabe, David Shirley, all the team in Irish Funds, nd Aedín O’Leary (Green Team Network), Jack Lee (MUFG), and Hans Zomer (Global Action Plan).
Representing The Panel on the day were Anne Keys, Liam Murphy, Sarah Kelly, Darina Heavey, Andrew Wynne, Olivia Wallace, and Mal Convery.
